ASDAN
Bishopswood School subscribes to the ASDAN scheme (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network). ASDAN is a pioneering curriculum development organisation and awarding body, offering programmes and qualifications that explicitly grow skills for learning, skills for work and skills for life.
Our students work towards ASDAN Transition Challenge, a scheme specifically designed for students with severe learning difficulties. The ASDAN Youth Award programme is also available for pupils who require more of a challenge. They also study ASDAN Workright and ASDAN Personal Development qualifications.
Students in KS4 attend a local garden centre every week to carry out work activities, they work alongside the centre’s employees and follow all rules and required health and safety procedures. At the end of KS4 they will have completed a portfolio of work that will be assessed for the ASDAN Workright qualification.
Coursework is externally moderated for a certificate to be issued. For more information you can visit their website ASDAN
