REMOTE EDUCATION
At Bishopswood School, we recognise the importance of providing accessible, meaningful, and flexible remote education to support pupils' learning beyond the classroom. Our remote learning approach is designed to complement each pupil’s pathway, ensuring they continue to engage with their education in a way that is structured, personalised, and adaptable to their individual needs.
How We Deliver Remote Education
✔ EdShed for Core and Communication Pathways – Pupils in the Core and Communication Pathways have access to EdShed, an engaging online platform that supports English and Maths learning. This provides pupils with interactive activities that reinforce classroom learning and allow them to practise skills independently at home.
✔ Evidence for Learning – We use Evidence for Learning to share additional learning activities that families can access remotely. This includes practical, hands-on tasks tailored to each pupil’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP) targets, ensuring that learning remains relevant and engaging.
✔ Personalised Home Learning Packs – For pupils who may need further structured, offline learning, we can provide customised home learning resources, including sensory-based activities, communication tools, and practical life skills tasks.
✔ Continuous Communication & Support – Our staff remain in contact with families to provide guidance, monitor progress, and offer personalised support. Parents can use Evidence for Learning to upload observations, share achievements, and communicate with teachers about their child's progress.
Ensuring Engagement and Progress
Our remote education offer is not about simply replicating school at home—it is about ensuring that pupils can continue learning in a way that suits their needs, with resources that support engagement, independence, and skill-building.
For any questions or additional support regarding remote learning, please contact your child’s class teacher.
